I haven’t made any progress YET. I focused on my primary job today and lost momentum for it, but you do what you’ve got to do sometimes. I am excited to keep things going so after today’s blog post is up, I’ll look to get something done.

Filling the Well

Guide to Literary Agents 2019: 97/332

I got a chance to do some reading this morning in Guide. I’m reading interviews from debut authors and it’s all good for me. I’m learning some things both to my advantage and disadvantage. Either way, I’m continuing to forge ahead.

I did forget to mention a few days ago that I read a short story by Seanan McGuire called Any Way the Wind Blows. The title always makes me think of the end of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a cute, self-aware story that was a lovely read on the plane, so:

Any Way the Wind Blows: 100% (Book 20 of 25 for #ProjectBookworm2019)

Polishing the Well

Like I said above, it was mostly a work day for me. My work trip threw my routine off so I’m catching up now. In addition to that, I’m doing some research on my blogging and digital newsletters to learn things to improve my platform. I appreciate all my readers and hope to keep giving you what want to read.

The Long Game

The Stratasphere is all connected; we talked about that yesterday. And they all have different forms of magic that is all loosely connected; fine. Why?

There is a plan for it all. Right now, with no novels published in this universe, it’s quite loose, but I have an event planned. As books and series are released, it will start driving higher in a cosmic sense. Characters will become more and more aware of higher entities. Eventually, one will discover their Stratarch.

That’s when things will really get interesting. Stratum-level events, effects, and changes will become evident. Cosmic shifts will become visible. Again, all this is high-level right now and theoretical so I have exactly no details as to how this will come together yet. Forgive me when I use nebulous terms.

At some undetermined point, everything up to that point will converge. Things that are bigger than all the characters to that point will come to a head. The Stratasphere will have tilted far out of balance and will require a correction. Course corrections are often resisted, though.

And that’s the conflict. Some Stratarchs will be in favor of returning to balance while others will resist and want to continue the freedom within the strata that currently exists. The conflict escalates into war. And that is the epic event I have planned.

One day.

A long time from now.

What do you think of such an ambitious, long-ranging, high-risk plan? I want to see it come together, but that is a far-future plan so I’m interested in your thoughts.

May the tide carry you to safer shores.
