Yesterday’s Writing: 310
I’m still working through the first-quarter point of Around the Corona, but it’s about to move on from that, which is good. It has taken many more words to work through this than I expected. On the plus side, while I was driving around today, I worked through a few key elements of the plot that will weave together to work toward the climax. This is a good thing. If I know where I’m headed, I can make better decisions about the initial writing and I can write faster because I have an end goal in mind. For now, I need to …well, we’ll just leave that detail until you read the short story. 😉
Personally
Today ended up being a much more stressful day than expected. I’m still getting back into the swing of things in my new-old department so it felt hectic today. It’s a totally different balance from having nothing to do in that I have to actually balance all the competing reports and projects that need attention.
The real stress came in when our dog had an allergic reaction to something. It was either her rabies vaccine (standard booster shot) or her Heartgard (which is new). I can’t determine which it is for a variety of reasons. Tonight, we’re having a slumber party in the living room to keep an eye on her. I’m going to do some writing…maybe. My daughter has Family Feud on so concentration is not a strong suit right now. Maybe once she goes to sleep I’ll get some writing done.
